Minstead Labradors, dog breeder, puppies

Minstead Labradors was first registered with the kennel club in 1995, Minstead being the affix that all Labradors that Ian White breeds are known as. He then thought of a theme that all the dogs names should follow.

It was decided that because of the nature of the dog and what they are being breed for, i.e. to search and find, that they should all be named after detectives. Should he want to call a bitch a male name as long as it ended in ER he changed it to A i.e. Spenda, Cracka, etc.

And so it was decided that the first breeding bitch that would oversee her litters would be called Minda.

These of course are their registered kennel club names, once people have bought a pup they give it their own pet name.

Scout is 4 yrs old D.O.B. 26/06/03. He has run in 17 Field Trials with 13 awards. He is now a fully open dog after winning the Lab Club of Wales Field Trial. We are hoping for really big things from him in the 06 season, who knows he may even become a FTCh. by this time next year.

Scout covered Purdy earlier in the year and she had 9 lovely pups, They are now 6 months old and we have kept 3 dogs, who are all coming on really well in the early part of their training. It really is quite amazing how different the 3 are. Will let you all know how they progress as they get older.

Scout covered Purdy for her second litter, she had 5 bitches and 1 dog, we still have 3 bitches to sell they are now 20 weeks and absolutely full of themselves.

The dogs from Scout / Purdy’s first litter are now 2 years old and 2 of them that we know of are showing real promise. Just last week Minstead Scribbs got 3rd in a novice trial if Scotland on Blue Hares. The dog I have from the same litter Minstead Foyle has had 2, 2nd 2, 3rd 3COM’S in novice working test, hasn’t run in a trial as yet.

I must take this opportunity to apologise for the web site not changing but it has taken me nearly four years to get my own site, as the domain suppliers would not give me the correct information to update the site. Hopefully I will now be able to update it on a regular basis.

We are still making safety dog cages for any make of vehicle, just tell us what your vehicle is and we'll supply a quote. They are all finished in a heavy plastic coat and can have draws under if required - we can even do vans.
